Do not worry
By ydau
Why do we worry? We all know that worrying is not good, but why do we still keep worrying? “Oh, Jesus is telling me to do something so hard.” “There is too much commitment to follow the path of Jesus.” We worry like that.
Why do we worry? We all know that worrying is not good, but why do we still keep worrying? “Oh, Jesus is telling me to do something so hard.” “There is too much commitment to follow the path of Jesus.” We worry like that.
We are afraid to lose our possessions on earth. Our prospective is that without it we cannot live. Yet if we continue to worry, we will choke and die. In the path of faith, you cannot become attached to possessions; otherwise you will never be able to break the chains of Satan.
Changing Priority in Our Lives
Jesus says in Matthew 6:25 not to worry about what we eat or drink, and he asked whether life is more important than food and body more important than clothes. Jesus points out through this verse that there are certain priorities in our lives. Beyond material possessions, there is a higher priority we should keep.
How precious is the life that is given to us? Already, the life and the body have been given to us. However we tend to worry about other problems first.
First Seek His Kingdom and Righteousness
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus said to first seek His kingdom and His righteousness, and everything will be given to you as well. Reality is that we enter the world empty and leave the world being empty, so being attached to possessions is meaningless. The reason we continuously train ourselves to empty is to learn how God will fill us up.
Where do fears and worries come from? This comes from not trusting God. We should live optimistically and place hopes in Him that He will provide you when you first seek His kingdom.
